Keep On Keepin’ On

Hebrews 10:36-37(NIV)

36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For,

“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.”

You gotta keep on keeping on
Even with the feeling
That you’re gonna keep losing
You gotta come back strong
Oh Oh
You gotta keep on keeping on
Even with the feeling
That you’re gonna keep losing
You gotta come back strong
Oh Oh
– Keep On Keeping On: Lyrics by Travie McCoy

Sometimes in life it is hard to even put one step ahead of another when it comes to raising a family, getting and keeping a job, maintaining relationships with friends and loved ones or finding time for ourselves, let alone trying to do the will of God.

You often, as the above song lyrics state have; “the feeling that you’re gonna keep losing.”

From a human standpoint our trials often seem impossible to overcome. We face obstacles like depression, delusion and defeat, and alone they can suck us into a deep, dark hole that can overwhelm us.

But the lyrics also state; “You gotta come back strong” implying if you are going to make it through your trials one must keep on keeping on right through them into another day which always brings fresh hope.

With mankind things do appear to be impossible to conquer at times and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was fully aware of our troubles:

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26

In other words, doing the will of God will take care of all our trials and tribulations and it is easier than one may think if they accept the grace of God through Jesus Christ who paid the price once and for all for our failures as humanity.

Christ has made it easy to do the will of God if we abide in Him instead of going our own way which will always result in a dead-end sooner or later.

With God’s grace we have already been forgiven and if we accept Christ into our lives we have done all we ever need to do to accomplish His will.

Once we have accepted Christ and abide in His love we can persevere through any of the trials life may throw at us. The end result is what God promised us; which is eternal life with Him when Christ comes again to set us free from the bonds of our humanity here on earth.

With the abiding love of Jesus Christ in our lives we can easily keep on keeping on.

I know from my own personal life experiences that had I not had Christ at the helm of my life I would not have made it through the many times I had the feeling I was going to keep on losing.

What about you? Are you tired of that feeling you just can’t win? If so, I invite you to accept the grace of God and let Him do the possible where it is impossible for you.

If you are already a believer how many times can you see where Jesus Christ carried you through your impossible trials and brought you into a new direction that resulted in a much better life here on earth?
