Brad L Hodges

Brad L Hodges retired in April 2008 from a 30 year Executive career in the mortgage industry. A native and lifelong resident of California, he spent the next five years trying to figure out what he was going to do with the rest of his life.

Turning it all over to God, Brad packed up his travel trailer, leaving parents, sister and adult children in California and moved to his beloved “second home” state of New Mexico, which he had fallen in love with nearly 14 years earlier on a vacation trip, deciding upon crossing the border back then, it was where he truly wanted to live at some point forever.

Brad now lives on 40 acres of very rural and isolated heaven with his cat Micah, approximately 200 miles, round trip, from Albuquerque, NM, where he is dedicating the rest of his life to writing.

A lifelong “New Creation” in Christ; 2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!, since the age of nine, Brad’s roots run deep in the study of the Bible and Christian theology. His Grandfather, Isam B. Hodges, founded Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, now in Mill Valley, CA, in March of 1944 at Golden Gate Baptist Church in Oakland, CA (

A prolific writer, Brad was a dedicated student to learning the art of it in both high school and college. He has written extensively on Christian topics and the majority of devotions on this blog are his God inspired work, to whom he fully gives the credit to for inspiration. In addition Brad writes Conservative political articles and has been extensively published across the Internet. He has several very early manuscripts in various stages for books he would like to write and publish. At one point in his “discovery” years after retirement from the mortgage industry, Brad was a publisher for thousands of Internet articles written by hundreds of authors on a now closed website, so he has a deep knowledge and experience in writing and publishing.

This blog,, was originally created by Brad in 2009 but sat dormant until March of 2014 when he felt moved by Jesus to revive it and begin an online mission of creating and publishing devotional articles he felt inspired to write, in the hopes of helping others study the Bible and be led to Christ and eternal life.
